Austin Film Festival Returns: A Celebration of Indie Filmmaking in the Heart of a Cultural Hub

Published on:

The much-anticipated Austin Film Festival is making its return this month, bringing an exciting lineup of films to the heart of downtown Austin from October 24 to 31. Known for its vibrant indie film scene and as a hub for creatives, Austin is gearing up for another unforgettable celebration of cinema.

Barbara Morgan, co-founder and executive director of the festival, shared her enthusiasm with Spectrum News 1, stating, “We’re particularly excited about our world premieres this year with Texas connections—films made in Texas and by Texans. It’s amazing to see how many creatives are making their own work here. The indie filmmaking spirit is alive and well in this state, and Austin Film Festival is proud to champion these stories.”

This year’s lineup is packed with films to watch out for, including Justin Kurzel’s “The Order,” Brady Corbet’s “The Brutalist,” Tim Fehlbaum’s “September 5,” and Jesse Eisenberg’s highly anticipated directorial debut, “A Real Pain.”
